Yet another package....

Agent Provocateur
...arrived today. You must think I'm shopping like mad, but I've been waiting for this to arrive for two weeks now. Also I suppose I am making a habit out of buying pretty underwear from Agent Provocateur every time they have a sale. Their prices actually aren't that bad then, and I'd rather pay a little extra for quality underwear that also makes me feel like a princess.

So, so beautiful.

On another note, Sam of Daily Fashion Boost interviewed me about my style. Check it out here! Thanks, Sam.

Exciting package.

Look what arrived in the post today:

Lover

I love getting things in pretty packages... it's almost like having a birthday.

Lover

Something pretty from Lover was inside.

Lover

More precisely this wonderfully gorgeous dress!

(As you can see, I decided to go with larger photos. Most of you said that you preferred the larger ones, and so do I. Frankly, I quite dislike the way my blog looks with smaller pictures - at least on my browser - and I think that has to play a significant part. I hope those of you who had problems with the large pictures aren't too unhappy with this decision!)

Pink heart buttons and lace.

Pink umbrella

Do you remember this playsuit that I sew heart buttons on to? Well, a few days ago I wore it, and I absolutely love the way it looks -especially with soft, neutral colours and small hints of pink!

I also wanted to ask you if you prefer medium sized pictures like these on my blog, or rather larger ones (a few posts down)? Personally I prefer the larger ones as they look the best on my laptop and my browser, but someone alerted me to the fact that they couldn't view the large photos properly. Therefore some feedback on that is much appreciated!

Rhubarb pie.

I love picking and using fresh vegetables in my cooking when I can - it is so much better than buying them at the grocery shop, both taste vise and because you know they're absolutely chemical free.
My parents have lots and lots of rhubarb in their garden, but for some reason no one picks them, so I tried to find out what I could make with them, and decided upon rhubarb pie. Yum!

Rhubarb pie

Do you want to make it as well? It's very easy.

Baking a pie

Make a pie crust consisting of flour, margarine (I used vegan margarine), sugar and some water (how much you need of each depend on the size of your pie mould, but you need quite a bit since you also want to have some left to sprinkle on top of the pie). Mix the sugar and flour together, and then work butter into the dough until you have little chunks of dough, and then add water to bring the dough together.

Pie crust

Put the dough in the refrigerator for around half an hour to cool it down, then roll out the dough, and fit it into your pie mould. Make sure that you cover the edges with dough as well.

Rhubarb

Peel rhubarb and cut into approximately 2-3 cm pieces.

Rhubarb pie

Also slice a banana and some strawberries that you add - to make the flavour less sour.

Rhubarb pie

Then sprinkle corn starch, sugar and cinnamon on top, as well as some pie dough crumbles and bake for 30-40 minutes at 180 degrees celcius.

This pie tastes lovely served with vanilla ice cream or cream.

A boater with a red ribbon

DSC05786

For so long I had been wanting a straw boater hat - or just any hat at all - but I never quite felt that any hat I thought would look nice, actually did when I tried it on. I tend to be quite picky and I wanted a perfect hat that would suit me. Needless to say I was thrilled when I discovered the boater hat I am wearing in these pictures in Mars' Etsy shop. It has the perfect shape, and even has a red ribbon around it tied in a bow, something which makes it even more feminine and romantic looking. Ah, I just love it.

A few of you asked how the sushi that I was planning on making this weekend turned out, and the answer is pretty awful. Not only couldn't I make it stick together, but it tasted bad as well. I don't think I could ever get used to the taste of seaweed as it tastes, and more importantly smells too much like fish to me... From now on, I think I'm going to stick to western food as opposed to food from the east, which doesn't seem to be quite suitable for my taste buds!

My morning.

DSC05698

Today, I woke up really late, and I have no idea why. I had a very relaxing day yesterday so I shouldn't really be that tired - though I guess sometimes your body needs to recuperate and then sleeping extra long is only good (it's just that I prefer to not waste the whole morning like that!)

Tassus

Tassus always sleeps in my bed with me and he's always very cuddly in the morning. I love it when I have the time to wake up slowly like that.

Rollers

I got up and had a nice long shower, rolled my hair, and made myself breakfast.

Breakfast
Buckwheat porridge with soya mik and honey as well as tea. Delicious.

What to buy
While eating I made a little list of what I had to remember to buy today... I'm going to try my hand at making vegan sushi this weekend - that's the reason for a couple of the strange sounding items!

My new black dress.

Black dress

This is my new black dress that I wore to a friend's birthday party last Saturday. I love the cut and fit of this dress, and it's quite classic as well - plus, it doesn't hurt that it was 75% off either!

A few hours in the sun.

The last few days have been so pleasantly warm and nice here, which has been absolutely lovely. Even if it hasn't been sunny all the time, the air's been very warm. It's hardly ever like this - in fact, I cannot remember the last time it was nice and warm and not chilly because of the wind. I hope this continues for a few more days at least.
I enjoyed a morning sitting outside reading a book and drinking strawberry smoothie.

Sunrise and sunset.

Sunrise/sunset
My sleeping/getting up routine gets very easily messed up in the summer because of the constant light. Yes, I live that far north - so far north that for two months straight in the summer the night is as bright as the day. It is very lovely, but it also unfortunately leads me to turn the day around (not completely, but much more than what I should) on the days when I'm not working. Consequently, these pictures were taken sometime during the night - and I couldn't really say if the sun is rising or setting, but I suppose that does not really matter.
