Brownish hues.

DSC05173
It finally feels a little warmer around here, I don't get cold too easily when I'm outside so spring seems to be in the air. That being said, the official snow depth is still around half a meter (something I check every day as I'm so eager for it to disappear!), so unfortunately there's still a little bit left to go before it feels properly springy/summery.

I took these pictures yesterday while taking my dog out for a walk.

Vegetable muffins.

DSC05160
This evening I have been making vegetable muffins, which taste quite scrumptious.
Here is how I made them in case any of you would like to give it a try!

I grated half a zucchini and two carrots until it looked like this:

Then I added 300 grams of flour (I mixed spelt and whole grain wheat), a teaspoon of cinnamon, two teaspoons of baking soda, a bit of salt and mixed it together with the zucchini and carrots.

Then I chopped a handful of pecan nuts which I added to the mixture.

I also chopped some chives and added them too.

Since I don't eat eggs (if you want to use eggs you're welcome to do so - use two) I used "no egg" as an egg replacer and added to the mixture.

Then I added a spoon of oil, and 2 1/2 dl of water (I was out of soy milk - you're supposed to use milk actually, but water worked just fine!)

I then mixed everything and put the dough into muffin molds (make sure you've applied some oil or butter to the molds before you put the dough in).

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes at 200 degrees celcius, and voila!

The muffins, with hummus on them, make a nice evening meal together with a cup of tea.

Spring, where are you?

DSC05128
Because I live so incredibly far north (many of you probably couldn't imagine how far north it is), spring tends to be very slow. I am not a girl who likes winter, so inevitably this is really not the place for me... but, in order to try to hurry spring up a little bit (which has perhaps shown small signs of its arrival the last few days), I decided to dress very spring like today in hope of that maybe helping a little bit!

Les chansons d'amour

Les Chansons d'amour Nina Ricci
Yesterday I watched a wonderful French film called Les Chansons d'Amour, which was completely lovely. I have a weakness for French films, and this one turned out to be no exception. It's a musical, it's about love, the images are beautiful and so filled with emotions. It also doesn't hurt that the ever so handsome Louis Garrel is in it.

Heart buttons.

DSC05122

A few weeks ago I bought a pretty little playsuit from the 60s on Ebay. Unfortunately the zipper was broken, and I really wanted to wear it, so today I went and bought some cute, pink heart-shaped buttons that I thought I'd sew onto it. Mind you, I've still not quite got the hang of sewing, but I don't think it would be that difficult to do it. At least I hope it won't be! At any rate, I think it's going to look really cute with the pink buttons and the pink bows on it.

Also, have you noticed my new header? Katie of Cherry Humbug made it and I love it. Katie's graphics have always impressed me a lot, and I was thrilled that she made me this header. Thank you again, Katie!

Home.

I am back home in Norway now and it's cold, snowing and dull. I miss Israel so much. It's also not fun coming home, unpacking, tidying, cleaning and realizing that I have too many things. Luckily, to bring me in a better mood, I have a lot of pictures from my holiday that I can look at.

I thought I'd share a few photos from my last day there, which was wonderfully warm and sunny. I got to wear a new dress I'd bought in Cala (an Israeli shop with fabulous clothes) as my boyfriend and I strolled around Tel Aviv.

Beach.

DSC09024
Today my boyfriend and I were at the beach, the weather was wonderful and I had a little dip in the sea as well. Last time I swam in the ocean was nearly two years ago, so it felt really nice, especially with the waves.

Tomorrow night I'm leaving to go home to northern Norway - something I feel very sad about. I'll have to leave my boyfriend again, and go back to winter weather (after enjoying spring in Sweden and summer here in Israel). However, it will be very nice to see my dog again who I miss quite dearly.

Yellow flower crown.

DSC05024

Today I went for a walk in an area with lots of meadows of pretty flowers - perfect for making a flower crown to put on my head.

Trip.

I've just come back from a two day trip to northern Israel with my boyfriend. It was so lovely, and the landscape absolutely breathtaking. We wandered around in the nature, visited several cities, stayed at a romantic hotel, and just had a great time together.

I thought I'd share some pictures with you!
